Why is there a GUDHOST administrator on my WordPress site?

Updated October 14, 2026

Every new GUDHOST site is set up from a ready-made WordPress installation, so it is ready a few minutes after you pay. That installation comes with an administrator account from GUDHOST, which you'll see under Users in WordPress next to the administrator we created for you. It is named after GUDHOST.

Is it safe?

Yes. When your site is created, we give this account a long random password that nobody keeps, not even us, so nobody can log in with it as it is. It is not a sign that someone else has access to your site.

Your own login is the administrator shown on your website page in your GUDHOST account, in the WordPress section. That is also where you reset its password (see "Reset a WordPress password").

Can I remove it?

Yes, it's your site. In WordPress, go to Users, hover over the GUDHOST administrator and choose Delete. WordPress then asks what to do with the content it owns: choose Attribute all content to and pick your own administrator, so no pages or posts are lost.

If you'd rather keep it, you don't need to do anything. Either way, nothing changes for your site, your backups or our support.

When we need to work inside WordPress

Some requests, like moving your site to GUDHOST, are done by a person on our team. If such a task needs access to WordPress itself, we ask you first and agree with you how to give it, for example a temporary account you remove afterwards.
