Your WordPress site sends emails for contact forms, orders, new user sign-ups and password resets. By default WordPress sends them without signing in to a real email account, so they often land in spam or are rejected.
The reliable fix is SMTP: your site signs in to an email account you already have and sends through it, just like your email app does.
What you need
GUDHOST doesn't provide email accounts. Use the email provider you already have for your domain, such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, or a dedicated email sending service. Your provider's help pages list:
- The SMTP server (host), port and encryption to use.
- How to sign in: the address and its password, an app password, or a "sign in with" connection.
Also make sure your provider's SPF and DKIM records are set up where your domain's DNS is managed. Your provider's setup guide lists them.
Set it up with a plugin
- In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add Plugin, search for WP Mail SMTP, then install and activate it. Its setup wizard opens automatically.
- Choose your provider from the list, or Other SMTP, and enter the details from your provider.
- Set the From Email to the address you send from, at your own domain, and add a From Name.
- Send the test email the plugin offers.
Common reasons emails don't send
- The "From" address uses a different domain from your website, for example a gmail.com address. Use an address at your own domain.
- The username or password is wrong, or your provider requires an app password.
- The domain has no SPF or DKIM records for your email provider.
If test emails still fail, contact support and we'll check your site for anything blocking outgoing mail.
